Born on July 29, 1938, in Hakyala village of Aurad taluk of Bidar district, Vaijnath Sanghappa is a leader of the Patil agrarian family. He graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from BVP College, Bidar.

Patil died at Fortis Hospital this morning in Bangalore.
